Viva Las Vegas!
CADsmart is proud to announce another world first – a fully interactive skills assessment module for Autodesk’s popular Revit® platform.
We will be showcasing our new software during December’s Autodesk University convention in Las Vegas (2-5 December). If you're planning to attend the show, please come and say hello to us - we'll be at booth 237 in the main exhibition hall.
As part of the conference, CADsmart Execs Rory Vance and Tony Brown are delivering a class appropriately entitled, 'How to make the move from AutoCAD to Revit'.
Having created highly acclaimed skills assessments for leading 2D CAD platforms such as AutoCAD & MicroStation, we realised that the time was right to step into the 'BIM' space, and develop a suite of tools for our customers who are moving beyond traditional drafting techniques. During the last year, we have collaborated with a number of leading Revit users to shape the new assessment format.
Our new software works inside the Revit platform, so, as with the AutoCAD & MicroStation modules, candidates are physically using the tools, as they would at their work station. The assessment covers 10 core areas of basic Revit skills; basic element creation, views & sheets, detailing, annotation & keynotes, component placement, dimensions & rules, importing DWG, families and parts, scheduling and coordinates & orientation.
The Revit Architecture module is the first in a series of planned BIM skills assessment tools; it will swiftly be followed by content for Revit Structure and Revit MEP in early 2009. We are also planning assessments for Bentley BIM tools, such as Bentley Architecture & Structure.
As part of the launch promotion, we are offering a generous 50% discount on the first year’s subscription to the first 100 firms who register for a Revit pilot before the end of December, and who subsequently purchase a subscription by the end of February 2009. And existing customers need not fear preferential treatment for newcomers to the CADsmart service; all current customers will automatically receive the Revit module as part of their subscription when it goes live.
